Concentrated application of MgO in ceramics:
1. High purity MgO and alumina can be used to prepare fused ceramic particles, which can be widely used in the field of abrasive tools. It can be used as sintering assistant together with rare earth oxide to prepare silicon nitride ceramics, which can efficiently and economically manufacture various products with complex shapes, such as cutting tools, sealing rings, bearings, nozzles and various high temperature, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant products.
2. Preparation of MgO ceramic core
The use temperature of MgO ceramic core is not lower than 1600 ℃, it does not react with casting metal at high temperature, and the surface of the casting is smooth, which makes up for the defects such as a large number of pores and sand sticking in the inner hole of the casting when silicon-based core is used to cast such materials; It has the advantages of good solubility, good solubility in weak acid, short time of core removal, simple core removal equipment, pollution-free core removal process, safety and reliability, reducing the cost of precision casting, no hot crack in casting hollow thin-walled castings, high dimensional accuracy of core, sufficient strength, no deformation and breakage in molding, handling and charging.
3. Some stable zirconia ceramics with excellent mechanical properties and high temperature aging resistance were prepared by using high-purity magnesium oxide and yttrium oxide or rare earth metal oxide as composite stabilizers. The ceramic material can be widely used as high temperature engineering parts and high-grade refractories.
